Your Website Headshot

For over a decade, I refused to put my photo on my website.

Looking young had led to some clients trying to take advantage of me early in my career. So I hid.

When I finally added a photo, many years after I launched my first website, it was taken from far away and my face was turned away from the camera.

(Not exactly building trust and connection)

Here's what I've learned since then ⤵️

Your website photo is often your first chance to connect with potential clients. It matters.

You don't need a traditional corporate headshot with a white background. In fact, I usually prefer not going that route.

Instead:

→ Wear what you'd wear to meet clients

→ Be yourself (no suit if that's not your style)

→ Smile authentically (it doesn't need to be full-teeth)

→ Choose a setting that feels natural to you

The goal isn't perfection. The goal is connection.

[This is the first photo of myself I ever put on my website. I would NOT recommend going this route.]
